Nordic Mindfulness CIC
We are a non profit making social enterprise, a CIC. We focus on communities being aware of their own wellbeing, improving their health and learning new skills for life. Our work is based on structured learning that is based on science and how we can adapt and change to take greater care of our wellbeing.
We are cultivating and supporting physical and mental health lead by experienced health professionals and volunteers. We have researched how Scandinavian countries have better health outcomes in society and a greater sense of wellbeing. We hold this dear.
Huge parts of our populations need to develop and secure inner foundations having greater independence of mind to undertake and take part in activities that improve their wellbeing.
We want to empower all those who want to become active co-creators and help lead by example. This can only be done through deep inner work, reflection, and commitment. We want to help people grow and feel more confident and healthy.
We offer retreats, workshops, online support and learning materials to embed mindfulness and wellbeing skills for life.
We want to support people from the community at the earliest stage of when they feel they need it most.
Our team has a vast amount of knowledge and experience and teach for life’s experience
Hi
My name is Heather and i would just like to share some of my life experiences that have allowed me to be part of Helens journey in creating Nordic Shield Mindfulness
I have had a eclectic career in the health care industry travelling throughout the UK as well as gaining experience in Sweden and the Emirates.
I began my career in health taking care of an elderly terminal lady in her own home before commencing with the ambulance service. It was during this time i had a life changing event which involved surgery and a number of months of rehabilitation. Whilst i was in hospital i had an surreal experience which influenced me to train as a registered nurse. Thankfully following a return to health that’s exactly what i did; trained as a General nurse which propelled me into an exciting career . I have worked in various areas of the NHS including intensive care in a large London hospital. I have held many responsible management positions including clinical lead in a 100 bedded Nursing home; whilst the pandemic was in its height . I have also ran a COVID isolation unit and gained a wealth of experience working abroad . Alongside my nursing career i have also practised in massage and reflexology therapy and realise the benefits on our own physical and mental health.
I continue to work in the health care industry in varied and challenging roles, at the same time as focusing on mindfulness and its importance in our own physical and mental wellbeing. I gained qualifications in mindfulness and attended the Intuitive Mindfulness Teacher 12-month programme following an eight session mindfulness course and now practise mindfulness daily . The benefits are outstanding once you have committed to an intention, this is the initial marshalling of energy to experience an adventure to accomplish a positive change in our own wellbeing.
Come along and enjoy the journey!
