We empower individuals and communities to take an active role in their wellbeing — physically, mentally, and emotionally. Through accessible, science-based programmes, we provide people with the knowledge, tools, and confidence to navigate life’s challenges, build resilience, and create lasting positive change.
Our approach is rooted in mindfulness, lifelong learning, and practical wellbeing skills, helping people develop a deeper understanding of themselves and the world around them so they can adapt, grow, and thrive.

Supporting Community Wellbeing
What We Do
Nordic Mindfulness CIC is a not-for-profit social enterprise dedicated to improving community wellbeing and lifelong learning. As a Community Interest Company (CIC), our purpose is social, not commercial. Funding from grants and community partners supports our programmes, staff, equipment, and essential operating costs, helping us provide meaningful and accessible opportunities for everyone.\
Our Mission
We empower individuals and communities to take greater responsibility for their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing. Our programmes are grounded in science-based learning, helping people develop the understanding and skills they need to adapt, grow, and thrive.
Where We Are
Nordic Mindfulness CIC is based at the Bacup community Centre where we bring calm and mindfulness into everyday life.
It is a welcoming space built with intention, warmth, and care—a place where the sacred becomes accessible and community becomes a source of connection and support.

Our Impact
Our aim is to help people:
Strengthen their inner foundations and independence of mind
Build confidence and resilience through reflection and mindful practice
Become active co-creators of their own health and wellbeing
We support people from the earliest stages, providing a safe and welcoming space to find greater balance, clarity, confidence, and connection.
Our Projects
With support from the National Lottery Community Fund, we have proudly delivered:
Dance with Dragons Project
Nordic Wellbeing Project
Fearless Heart Project — reaching out and still carrying forward mindfulness practice vitally.
These projects have been made possible through the dedication of our volunteers, staff, and community members, many of whom began their own wellbeing journey with us.
Our Current Project just ended
We are strengthening our regular connection with the community, creating opportunities for people to deepen their learning and make mindfulness part of everyday life.
Our workshops build on previous sessions, introducing practical mindfulness techniques that participants can continue using in their daily lives. The response from the community has been extremely positive.
We are also fortunate to have the support of local women who contribute their time, experience, and energy to help deliver and strengthen the project.
